Born Mamaya Maya, as the result of an affair between a Lalafellin woman and a dragoon of Ishgard, she was abandoned as a newborn, near Camp Dragonhead. She surely would have perished had she not been found by the Fauchers, a couple from Gridania that had a fondness for exploration.Their journeys would eventually take them to the Hingan port of Kugane, where they would settle down to raise Mamaya and her older brother. During her teenage years, the little woman would fall in with a bad crowd, joining a local Yakuza. Through her connections gained there, she would meet her best friend, Nahmu.After some time, Mamaya would grow dissatisfied with her life in the group, despite finding it fun. She would proceed to, with the help of her brother, sneak off to make her way to Gridania. There, thanks to her fondness for battle, she would be picked up by the Hunter's Association.Though at first, she was driven purely by a drive for battle, her many adventures with both the Association and with the Scions have made her a more well-rounded individual. In particular after meeting her wife to be, Fufuru Furu, who gave the Lalafell pause and a true reason to become better.

  • Combat Enthusiast: Foremost amongst Mamaya's hobbies is her love for battle. She can often be found training or hunting, in order to get her fix. Oft running recklessly into combat. Even when doing neither actively, rarely, if ever, will she turn down an offer to duel.

  • Alcohol Lover: Mamaya's second favorite activity is drinking, and she will almost always accept a pint. She has a strong constitution, allowing her to hold more than her Lalafellin frame would suggest possible. However, drinks of any particularly high strength are like to knock her out.

  • Keeper of the Peace: Mamaya, as a result of her training and adventuring, has ended up as both an Ishgardian Dragoon and a member of Kugane's Sekiseigumi. She can oft be found in one of those two places, on duty, though she travels just about anywhere and everywhere.

  • Ex-Yakuza: Before becoming the hunter and hero she has, Mamaya was once a member of a yakuza group in Kugane. Sometimes she even still hangs out with her old buddies among them, and even still helps them out on occasion. Don't tell her employers!

Contacts

Fufuru Furu: A fellow hunter, and Mamaya's beloved wife. A gentle and kindhearted individual. It was largely her patience and understanding that helped Mamaya realize there was more to herself than just combat.

Alessa Wintermere: One of the most talented hunters of the Association, whom Mamaya counts amongst her closest friends(Even if the feeling isn't mutual). Theirs is a friendship built upon their mutual love of booze.

Nahmu Grailmont: Even if they don't talk as often as either would like, it is Nahmu who Mamaya considers her dearest friend. When they hang out, Mamaya has a habit of dragging him around.

Zuzukasa Mimikasa: A fellow hunter, with perhaps one of the keenist and sharpest minds in the Association. Though Mamaya's recklessness often causes them to bicker, she counts him as a good friend, and trusts his judgement on many things.

Aster Argyris: The founder and leader of the Hunter's Association. It was her insight, and faith in her Hunters that lead Mamaya to Fufuru, and to becoming who she is. Mamaya now acts as one of her bodyguards when she travels.

Fredrick Wintermere: Father to Alessa, and a veteran amongst the Hunter's Association. Mamaya, perhaps not wisely, sees the man as a role model of sorts, in at least some regards. He is one Mamaya's often goes to for advice.

Lapiz Cerulean: Another close friend of Mamaya's within the Association. A strong and reliable ally, whom Mamaya would trust with her life. Though, the Lalafell is oft annoyed by Lapiz's attempts to make her act and look more feminine.

Tahli Adahl: A particularly skilled hunter with a love for moogly things. Mamaya is glad to call her a friend and ally. They only really cross paths occasionally, but Mamaya is always happy to hang out when they do.
